Who do you think will join the Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Cape Mountain Zebra, and the rumored Clouded Leopard in Webkinz’s new Signature Endangered Species collection? Introducing the Webkinz Endangered Species contest, a two-day contest with laden with prizes and perhaps a little dash of fame?

Webkinz Endangered Species Contest

As first described at webkinznewz.com, Webkinz World players that reside in the US or Canada are encouraged to submit their Top-10 favorite endangered animals. Once the online form becomes available, players should enter each of the 10 animals in the text boxes provided for a chance to win the prize, an “Animal Rescue Prize Pack”, which includes an “Animal Rescue Jacket” and “Animal Rescue Jeep”, only available at the Ganz eStore. Also, one could only speculate that these lists will be used to design and introduce new Webkinz to the collection. Winners – plural :) – will be randomly selected from the entry pool. The contest opens at 12:00am EST on April 10, 2010 and closes at 11:59pm on April 11th, giving a full two-days to come up with and submit your top 10 favorite endangered species.

Webkinz Signature Endangered Species Collection

In late January, Ganz announced a new line of signature pets drawing from the success of the original “Signature Series” line, which features larger,well-constructed, exquisitely detailed, new Webkinz pets that are perfect for fans and collectors alike. This new “Signature Endangered Species Collection” features similar styled plush pets and special virtual items attainable upon online adoption. When adopted, you are given a special piece of furniture specific to a Signature Endangered room theme in Webkinz World, a “Sanctuary Gift Pack” that includes exclusive flooring and wall paper, and a wish token. For the two currently available Signature Endangered Pets, online sales have remained between $20.00 and $30.00 shipped. No doubt the prices will escalate from there once production ceases.
